Another way to look at it is the Speechwriter was mocking Michelle's speechwriter. It is demonstrating how seriously unimportant anything a candidate's wife has to say is.
I think it is fun to watch the same people who gushed when Michelle said that speech are furious that Mrs Trump said the same thing. As if anyone can "own" the words, "If you work hard you can succeed".
