Hmmm

I'm just as guilty of this as many but for less than half the cost of another firearm.

I know this is the definition of low probability high consequence need, but I'm not sure I want to die feeling stupid. Something to ponder to myself.

    I have a plate carrier with soft (IIIA) inserts in it. Plan to add plates as soon as I can afford them. If I have to be in a gunfight I want every advantage.

    I've been holding out buying a vest because my work has been toying with the idea of buying them for us. If they don't, I'll be getting my own.

      I'd say if your work is toying with buying vests, meaning your line of work needs it, then it's not time to wait on them. Your personal low probability need isn't as low probability as other people's.
