Weekstarting Philosophy

Measured responses and restrained wars aren't kinder in the long run, they give evil ideologies hope of eventual triumph. They enable the continuation of the evils that they perpetuate and grind away at the forces of good. Grant believed correctly that he could win a war of attrition, Sherman believed that the attrition itself was inhumane and that shorter but sharper measures would reduce the butchery. Ironically it's Sherman who is far more hated by the south.

    1. Yeah, I'm not sure that will happen until we lose the "flower power" generation as well.
