You know everyone freaks out over "Russian Hackers" picturing a bunch of geeks in a basement mainlining Redbull. What's scarier and more likely are half a dozen "7's" embassy personnel or foreign exchange student's around the beltway with Ashley Madison accounts. What secrets do you really think Washington would have left?
People are the real weakness in any system and given the proliferation of jobs requiring security clearances do we really believe that we've been able to maintain the vetting on all of them. It doesn't matter if someone was happily married, financially stable, and had little interaction with foreign nationals when they took the job what about ten years later?
Just a few happy thoughts as well as things to ponder on a Tuesday.
